As a member of our hospitality team, the primary responsibility of a Director of Services is to provide strategic leadership and management to the overall operation of the hotel’s Housekeeping, Laundry Operations, and, if applicable, Recreation Facilities by developing and implementing strategies and overseeing the overall performance of the department. This role will be responsible for working closely to effectively execute all housekeeping operations, aiming to continually improve guest and associate satisfaction while maximizing the department's financial performance. This role plays a crucial part in fostering a positive and productive work environment, providing guidance and support to associates, and actively engaging with guests to seek opportunities for enhancement.

 

Detailed Job Summary

·         Develop and implement operational strategies in alignment with the brand's business objectives, focusing on enhancing guest satisfaction and driving financial performance.

·         Ensure strict adherence to all housekeeping policies, standards, and procedures, maintaining impeccable cleanliness standards for guestrooms, public spaces, and associate areas.

·         Establish and maintain a robust inspection program to continuously monitor and improve the quality of cleaning and service throughout the hotel.

·         Collaborate closely with the housekeeping team to coordinate room inspections and ensure prompt attention to guest needs.

·         Oversee the execution of the hotel's general cleaning schedule and supervise the budgeting and ordering of guestroom and cleaning supplies for efficient operations.

·         Introduce and implement innovative cleaning techniques, supplies, and equipment to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.

·         Nurture a strong working relationship with the Front Office to ensure seamless operations and effective communication between departments.

·         Supervise and coordinate turndown service and handle special guest needs to provide personalized attention and exceptional service.

·         Manage staffing levels judiciously to meet guest service requirements, operational needs, and financial goals.

·         Work collaboratively with the laundry department to manage costs and ensure the quality of hotel linen cleaning.

·         Partner with the Engineering department to address guest room maintenance needs and clarify responsibilities for a well-maintained property.

·         Actively monitor and ensure the successful implementation of an energy conservation program to promote environmental responsibility.

·         Lead by example in guest hospitality, demonstrating excellent customer service and empowering associates to deliver the same.

·         Engage with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels, handling any guest concerns or issues effectively.

·         Conduct regular meetings to review guest feedback, identify areas of improvement, and develop action plans for continuous enhancement.

·         Conduct thorough performance appraisals for associates based on their job descriptions, set performance goals, and create development plans to foster professional growth.

·         Cultivate open, collaborative relationships with associates, conducting annual performance appraisals for direct report managers to support their development.

·         Maintain regular and ongoing communication with all team members to create awareness of business objectives and expectations.

·         Oversee the departmental budget and expenses, participate in the development of capital expenditure goals, and conduct regular financial evaluations to achieve set objectives.
